Bought some bright pink beats headphones from a local person and they're good so far. Bulkier than the sennheisers, so we'll see how they travel.
Made jelly and (n)ice cream at the Community Kitchen, and an emergency birthday cake for a child which was requested right at the end of my shift (it was my pleasure). And earl grey, orange and thyme cupcakes at home.
Got loads of BODS done, again!
Started This Is Us and started and finished the newest season of The Orville.
Enjoyed an afternoon in Kirkcaldy JB and K, and discovered Merchants House has a new vegan menu..
Planted some more things and cleared up the garden.
The daffodils and crocuses are out, though it's still frosty in the morning. Mixed signals regarding the onset of spring..
Encountered my dear frenemy and neighbour Mulder with no barking and growling for the first time ever! The strategy was to wave a bag of treats from the distance as I approached. He took one from me quite happily and climbed up my leg like we've been friends forever. I've been carrying around treats waiting to try this for a while. He has previously hated me with the burning rage of a thousand suns (because, I presume a) I live in close proximity to his territory, and b) because I associate with Max, whom he hates even more), so I'm very happy all it took was one treat to turn things around. Hopefully he can stop barking whenever I'm tiptoeing quietly through the hallway between our two homes, now.
Watched Hamilton. Almost turned it off a couple of times, but was mostly enjoying it by the end. Learnt a lot more about US history than I knew before, and managed to stick with it, by wikipedia-ing things for the duration.
Aphids have finished off all of the lemon pepper plants and one birds eye in my living room, and given up and mostly moved out, it seems. The second birds eye and scotch bonnet are clinging to life. Fungus gnat population has escalated dramatically.
A weekend with K and Lowenna. We threw the ball in the park and walked around the local woods; walked in the Pentlands; and trekked across town to Castaway Coffee for a treat. Lowenna is slimy.
Did some gardening until my hands froze off. Harvested loads of frosted celery and turned it into stock. It's all collapsed, but will see if the rest recovers or not.
Made lemon and coconut cake (gf), apple cake, and three flavours of ice cream (banana base with vanilla / raspberry / peanut butter) at Community Kitchen.
Picked more shaggy parasols but they haven't grown much.
Felt a lot of stress and pressure around Co-op restructuring. Trying to get agreement on how to get our internal operations in-hand is harder than expected.
Co-op OGM.
Visited Lowenna, who has hurt her little toes from zooming too much in the snow.
Tried and failed to catch a train from Edinburgh to York.
The lemon pepper and other chillis in the polytunnel also got frosted. Stripped the chillis and made 2 litres of super hot hot sauce out of several dozen green lemon peppers, tomatoes, apple cider vinegar and salt.
Had Friday off work, as I was supposed to be in York, and didn't do much (except make hot sauce).
Started How to get away with murder. Watched all of Obi Wan Kenobi, and some movies (The Princess and the Frog, Willow).
After one false start, finally made it to York to celebrate the legal union of two friends. I met lots of awesome people there. I didn't have much time to explore York in the end, but did get to eat great tacos at El Rayo, and surprise fantastic vegan food at Cafe Frida's.
Stayed with Wenna so I could catch a train from Edinburgh the next day. Eventually train delays meant I gave up and went home, but not before lunch in Holy Cow.
Visiting C, B&G left, and I had an afternoon for a breather before my Co-op colleagues started to arrive.
A wee forage for chanterelles, amethyst deceivers, and a fun box to ID.
Finished, finally, Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake. I'll probably read it again tbh.
Open Data Services Co-op coworking meeting in the small seaside town I call home! It felt extremely positive and we moved forward with shared understanding around governance structures and business strategy. Lots of work to do to use this momentum to help us develop though.
