A long weekend at Mum's, with woodland walks to The Ramblers. A day trip to Manchester to see some more of the co-op gang for curry and milkshakes. And rail replacement buses.

Train from Edinburgh to Crewe, lift from Crewe to Mum's. Transit between coop and TAG meetings.
H and J came for a visit. They sent their Lake District weather on ahead - as soon as they left their house it started drizzling. That didn't stop us from helping K with roof-related tasks, or going for a swim in waves that are far too big for me to brave on my own. J spent several hours making gnocchi, and we wanted the new Indiana Jones movie. We also had brunch at Roots & Seeds.
Against all the odds, high tides and big waves this week restored the beach to more or less how it had been pre-babet. Obviously the bank that washed away was never coming back, but the steps down to the beach are accessible again!
Dave and H came back briefly on their way home from China, leaving a trail of teas and tiny pandas in their wake >.>

Return from Mum's.
To Mum's for the weekend to recover post-Wortley. Went to a quilting fare, walked in the woods. Lunches at Denstone Farm Shop and The Ramblers. But mostly, sitting around and bananagrams.

Mum taught me how to do the fancy icing on a bakewell tart (using a cocktail stick). Then we ate the bakewell tart.
